- Government certificate of entry required from 1 December for all incoming travellers
- Website gives online application access for travel entry into Grenada
- Incoming travellers minimum quarantine of 7 days
As of 1 December 2020, all incoming travellers to Grenada will be required to show airline representatives at ports of departure, a certificate of entry from Government before they will be allowed to board the aircraft.
At present, all incoming passengers are required to show a negative Covid-19 PCR test and a place for temporary quarantine while they await the result of on island testing before they can mingle with the citizens.
Health Minister Nickolas Steele announced during Tuesday’s post-Cabinet briefing that the entry certificate will be processed in advance and will become mandatory for entry. “This will be absolutely necessary by 1 December. We are asking individuals to begin the processing now; individuals who have already applied can reapply on the system or use they current acceptance and PCR,” he said.
“We are informing IATA and the airlines of our intention and within 10 days the airlines will begin to enforce,” he said while revealing that the Ministry of Health has launched its new web portal for travel into Grenada. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) supports aviation with global standards for airline safety, security, efficiency, and sustainability.
The site is the same address covid19.gov.gd but now it gives online access for the application for travel entry into Grenada. Steele said that the portal and management software for the incoming passengers is a partnership with the Amber Group out of Jamaica.
The Amber Group is providing a comprehensive and interactive website and mobile application which enables participating Governments to pre-approve travellers and control entry into the country while managing the country’s Covid-19 health cases. Amber’s system is described is one of the world’s first technology health-risk, travel authorisation systems.
The software allows for governments to screen visitors before they arrive in a country; enables the linking of initial screening information entered by a visitor to immigration checkpoints and build a secure digital health folder on each person entering the country.
Among other benefits of the software is the ability for authorised officials to digitally record high-risk cases, isolate where necessary and track those who came in close contact with affected persons to better manage risk.
All applicants to Grenada will have to show proof of the PCR test and paid accommodation before the entry certificate is provided electronically. “Once a person does that, they will receive from the ministry from that website an email copy of an entry certificate. This is what will be used to board any aircraft or airline to come to Grenada,” he said.
All persons entering Grenada will have to undergo a minimum quarantine of 7 days.
Then stay where you are. There are protocols in place for every island you visit. If you can’t abide, don’t come!
What a clueless nation. . Everything the people say no one question it.. So easy to control ignorant people. . That’s how slavery came about REMEMBER.. When allu want aid we go remember “stay where we is”
Just to comment they want your details.. Control Control Control. .
Could do with some clarification of the timescale involved in getting this. If we have to be tested and receive the results within 7 days of flight, then apply on this website, how long will it take for the authorization to come back?
I have attempted to complete the form, and note 2 defaults. Firstly, the resident address only allows for hotel, villas, and apartments. Yet, does not allow for family homes. My parents have a empty 6 bedroom house. How can I complete the form?
Secondly, the airline number automatically comes up with one option, but this is not the correct airline address.
Please review the website.
Regards,
Wat the point coming to GRENADA
Form need to be amended. Under Accommodation the choices are only hotel, villa and apartments. Guest House is not an option. Ease revise.
I see no reason why Grenada is opening it’s borders to incoming visitors. COVID-19 is rampant in USA, UK Europe among others. No matter what entry protocols are in place Grenadians would be at risk. The movement of people is the cause of the spread of the disease. Grenada’s health facilities cannot support an outbreak of this pendemic.
I have been proud to see how Grenada has handled themself so far. Stay the course, vaccines
are on the way.
V, is what you call yourself ,have you ever had the opportunity to come out of that single brain box of yours ,I ask because of that brainless and robotic mentality post you just posted.
Please look into the site because I am trying to down load the he forms but without success.
Quarantine must be 14 days. Lots of those persons who tested positive AFTER entering Grenada gad provided NEGATIVE PCR tests already to gain access to the country. What difference does paying money for thelis extra service even mean if the travellers can be tested again upon arrival in Grenada and show positive results. 7 days quarantine is NOT enough. Entry into Canada requires 14 days quarantine why should Grenada be any different? Isn’t the safety of all the objective here? Who cares if they have paid accommodations, the quarantine is only valid if they are isolated from the general population and guarnteed to stay that way for 14 days until they prove they are disease free. They need to show that neccessary supplies are being delivered so they have no reason to leave quarantine and this service MUST be non-contact. Do not jeopardize the people if Grenada. I want to see public proof that the doctor has been fined to the maximum allowed by Law for jumping quarantine. Fair treatment white, tourist or local no exceptions for anyone.
How long time will the Ministry og Health need from I file an application until an entry certificate is issued? Considering that the Covid-test should be taken not more than 7 days before entry, the certificate processing time should be shorter.
Hopefully. This will improve our screening. I really hope and pray that it does. I think that the Ministry of Health is fully aware of the health risks today. However, I would suggest that a 7-day PCR lead time be reduced to three days before travel.
Keep Grenada safe..no reduction it should be 14days. England and other countries have so much covid. Today, there was almost 596 deaths here and a minority of people are still very reckless, no mask and no social distancing.
What are the requirements for those, who come in by sailboat?
None as long as they promise to spend 4000 dollars buying the Grenada chocolate plus have any beach of their choice to bathe minus any of our Grenadian nationals,so say the minister of Aviation and Tourism.
And who says money don’t Talk,
Especially in Grenada.
