The Division of Sports in the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs & Local Government will facilitate an 8-day Easter Holiday Recreational Sports Coaching Programme to revive sporting engagement for young people on the sister islands.
The programme scheduled for Monday, 29 March to Tuesday, 6 April at the Hillsborough Playing Field, the Hillsborough Tennis Court and the Hillsborough Community Centre, will simultaneously engage 8- to 12-year-old students at the grassroots level, in sporting disciplines such as athletics, boxing, netball and cricket.
In a recent interview, Senior Coach in the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs & Local Government Sebastian Stiell said the Easter holidays provide an opportunity to engage young sporting enthusiasts in Carriacou, who have been affected by the Covid-19 Pandemic.
He said the Division of Sports is committed to the development of all sporting disciplines and is highly confident in its cadre of young coaches in Carriacou and Petite Martinique who will be facilitating the coaching sessions.
Interested individuals can visit any of the listed venues throughout the duration of programme within the hours of 9 am to 12 noon for free registration and participation.
The programme will be facilitated under adherence to the Ministry of Health’s Covid-19 protocols.
