Award-winning Playwright and Screenwriter Eljon Wardally facilitated a session on creating engaging and inspiring content for team members of the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA).
Wardally who was born in New York and has Grenadian roots, provided a thought-provoking presentation on the nuanced process of creating content and ensuring that it speaks to the intended audience.
This capacity-building exercise forms part of the GTA’s strategic focus on digital marketing, which is critical for positioning the destination ‘top of mind’ with visitors as worldwide travel increases. The GTA team benefitted from tips based on Wardally’s own recognised work, as they continue to strengthen in house talents and skills to meet the dynamics of the fast-paced changing digital landscape.
The Screenwriter who took time off from her visit to meet the GTA team commented, “My voice has been rooted in Grenada from the time I was born. I spent every summer here and have the warmest memories of family, friends and community. It’s always been important to me to give back to the home that has given me so much. I’m inspired daily by our culture and our diverse voices. If sharing what I have learned in the field can help others, I am more than happy to do so. I will always do whatever I can to support my island.”
Speaking of the session, Acting CEO of the GTA, Kirl Hoschtialek said, “We were delighted to have Wardally provide this timely presentation as the GTA increases its content production output. As locals, we have a deep appreciation for how wonderful our islands are and it is our task to share this message with visitors to the destination.”
Eljon Wardally’s achievements include O’Neill National Playwrights Conference Finalist and Audience Choice in the International Black Film Festival of Nashville. She has also produced commercial content for Major League Baseball (MLB) and New York Women in Film & Television. The session took place at the GTA Headquarters on the Carenage.
