Grenada has recorded 2 new cases of Covid-19.
This brings to 154, the total number of confirmed cases since Grenada recorded its first case on 22 March 2020.
The Ministry of Health says the new cases, both of which are imported, were detected on 13 March. One arrived from the United States and the other from Jamaica. Both are now in self-isolation.
Of the total number of confirmed cases, 76 are imported, and 151 have recovered.
To date, Grenada has conducted 23,384 Rapid/PCR tests, and 8,606 people have received their first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

The tests are free almost everywhere but in Grenada it should be noted that the testing has brought in $3,500,000.00 USD. Holy Toledo, that’s what one calls a WINDFALL, a winning lottery ticket!
D. Hart has asked Bull to explain how a traveler arriving with a required negative PCR test in hand could then test positive for SARS CoV-2 here. As this Bull character has not yet explained, I will do so now: The traveler’s exposure occurred sometime between very shortly before acquisition of the (negative) nasopharyngeal sample, and the repeat (positive) sampling (upon arrival here). That, of course, is exactly the rationale for requiring repeat testing here.
And concerning “self-isolation”: The Health Press Release stated it correctly. The 2 individuals transitioned from quarantine to isolation, upon receipt of the positive tests.
Two detected…and the undetected???
Bull, explain how there people entered the country with NEGATIVE PCR tests and now are POSITIVE if you are not having your own community spread? You must have some asymptomatic cases still on Grenada or how is the virus getting there? You say they were detected on March 13 when did they arrive and where were they when found positive? They need to be in quarantine NOT just isolated. More information. Are you testing them both for the variants?
Once the number is low and being dealt with we should be fine.
Keeping our people save is the key and staying that way is very important .
With only one death to the list Grenada is doing a fine job in containing this virus.
