The Royal Grenada Police Force will be conducting live ammunition training at the Pearls Airstrip, Camp Raymond (Pearls), St Andrew on Saturday, 13 March 2021 between 9 am and 4 pm.
Should there be an absolute necessity to use the area, animal owners, small craft operators and the general public are advised to exercise extreme caution when venturing into this area.

I feel it important to say that years ago Grenada police had respect, as they should. Officers need not be armed, their commands followed without question. We rely on them to be proactive in communities, now they becoming more of protectors. There was a time when we were kind and gentle to each other. Doors open, unlocked, welcoming to all. What has happened here I ask you.
The purpose of “live ammunition” training is to practice targeting and accuracy skills. So, when you pull the trigger you hit and eliminate a threat. (aka, the person you just shot is dead). We must also note that when a firearm is discharged bullets can pass through a target and hit an innocent person. Consider hollow point ammo and not FMJ for that reason. The picture in the article shows .45 caliber ammo typically used in semi auto 1911 firearms. Is this what the Grenada police are armed with or is it .38 wheel guns? In Grenada only police and military may possess firearms… ask yourself why this is. Just asking for a friend who has never been to Grenada like we have since before Ivan.
