The Department of Public Administration (DPA) is inviting livestock farmers and other interested persons to participate in a one-week online training course in: The Use of Sargassum for Livestock Feeding.
This is organised by the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) through the kind compliments of the Embassy of the United Mexico States.
The course will commence on Monday, 26 April through Friday, 30 April from 10 am to 12:30 pm.
The main objective of the course is to provide participants with critical knowledge about the use of the Sargassum seaweed meal (Sargassum) in the feeding of ruminants, poultry and shrimp cultivation. The main topics to be covered in the training include:
- Harvesting, drying and grinding of benthic and pelagic Sargassum
- Chemical composition of Sargassum
- Use of Sargassum for ruminant feeding
- Diets used
- Digestion of food
- Production parameters
- Acceptance tests (organoleptic)
- Use of Sargassum for poultry feeding
- Use of Sargassum for feeding shrimp in culture.
Interested persons must duly complete the attached registration Form for the course no later than today, Friday, 23 April 2021. Once the registration Form is completed, kindly click on the submit button at the bottom of the Form or submit directly to ACS via email address: [email protected].

Stupidness. I don’t see anywhere mentioned the removal of the salt. Also why is this published same day as you have to apply why not a week or more notice???

Ms Jones told me that we should go ahead and register although the deadline has passed & she will do what she can to assist. The organizers were late in sending them the information.
The form is not user-friendly. If you can ‘save a copy’ you should be able to write on it. The Submit button did not work for me but you can send it by email. Hope this helps,
