Health Authorities stand by Covid-19 treatment and discharge protocols at The General Hospital

The Ministry of Health stands by its protocols for the treatment and discharge from hospital of Covid-19 patients.

Responding to claims made in a series of videos circulating on social media and during an interview on the programme, Ridealong Live, the Ministry of Health asserts that there are requisite protocols which are duly followed when a Covid-19 case is confirmed or present in the hospital environment.

In keeping with health protocols, persons testing positive for Covid-19 are isolated and treated for their presenting symptoms.

When the patient is sufficiently stable, the protocols provide for their discharge from hospital, with advice to continue treatment at home and to self-isolate for a further seven days. Covid-19 patients are therefore advised to ensure adherence to these guidelines to help prevent further spread of the virus.

Health officials continue to monitor discharged Covid-19 patients and will provide medical clearance at the appropriate time.

The public is advised to avoid any physical contact with persons known to have tested positive for Covid-19, for the duration of their illness.

Further, the public is advised to follow all recommended Covid-19 protocols for their own safety. These include wearing a mask or other facial covering when in public, maintaining physical distance and avoiding mass gatherings, as well as frequently washing or sanitising hands.

Exactly what are those treatment protocols? I would hope that Grenada is willing to use early intervention drugs such as Ivermectin/zinc and not allow Covid cases to become critical before trying to help them. it is estimated that up to 85% of deaths could have been prevented if doctors had been allowed to use cheap and effective drugs to slow down the virus early.

Regardless of the specific protocol used in Grenada it is still advisable for every person to be proactive in protecting their own health. For those who can import items from the US, it would be advisable to have an adequate supply of these supplements: Zinc, Quercetin, Curcumin, Vitamins C/D/E, and N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine. (Research these to learn what they do.) In the event of an inflammatory crisis, begin strict fasting from simple sugars except for 1 tsp of Manuka honey combined with 1 tsp of turmeric powder or curcumin capsule. This absolutely destroys inflammation and boosts the immune system.

Follow the 8 laws of health.
    1. Nutrition: Low fat, low sugar (low inflammation) diet high in fresh fruits and vegetables which are filled with vitamins, minerals, and phyto-nutrients.
    2. Exercise: At least 20-30 minutes of brisk walking per day.
    3. Water: 7 – 9 glasses per day depending on location and activity level. Spring water or fresh coconut water is best if you can afford it.
    4. Sunlight: 45 – 60 minutes per day for dark skinned persons. Less for those prone to burning. Adequate vitamin D levels from sunlight is one of the most important factors to not catching Covid and/or recovering quickly if you do.
    5. Temperance: Abstain from alcohol, tobacco, etc. and limit intake of sugar, GMO’s and other highly refined foods.
    6. Air: Open the windows. Brisk walking every day. Avoid breathing smoke or airborne chemicals. Avoid buildings with obvious mold growing.
    7. Rest: 7 – 9 hours of quality sleep per night depending on age and activity level.
    8. Trust in God: Studies show those who believe in God, pray and study the Bible get sick less often and recover more quickly when they do.
