- Grenadians apparently at J’ouvert-type celebrations in Brooklyn
- New York Post reported people congregated
- Grenada flag shown in unsanctioned activity soiled and dirty
Health Minister Nickolas Steele has openly condemned the action by what appeared to be Grenadians who gathered for 6 September 2021 J’ouvert-type celebrations in Brooklyn, New York despite the cancellation of activity by the organisers.
A report in the 6 September online edition of the New York Post said that people congregated and danced on the sidewalks and streets next to a white trailer. Some rang bells as others could be seen waving the red, yellow, and green flag of Grenada.
“I have never been so ashamed to see the Grenada flag flying as I have this weekend. Knowing that there is death here in Grenada from the outbreak of unofficial unsanctioned carnival activities, to see some Grenadians supposedly proudly flying our flag in New York doing the same thing, participating in another country — unsanctioned, unauthorised activities flying the Grenadian flag,” Steele said on Tuesday.
“And what was more insulting is that there is a picture circulating and I think it does depict what it has done to us as a people. The flag is so soiled and dirtied, and this person somehow is representing us as a nation while we at home are fighting to overcome and survive the damage and destruction which was unleashed from the mass carnival events,” he said.
Choose to day whom you will serve.
What is happening in Brooklyn is the same thing that is happening in our government. They’re on the same side of the coin. In Brooklyn they go against an unsanctioned activity and in the government in greenze they fail to perform their duties as leaders, which is to care for the people of this country, but instead they mandate vaccine indirectly by scaring the people into taking a vaccine which they say is a choice. Placing executioners in place to choose who lives or die.
I choose God the creator of the heaven s and the earth and the giver of life.
The wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord
Romans 6:23
You have sinned against God by breaking his laws and commands and a just God will demand a punishment for evil but because he is rich in mercies and full of grace he has offered you a chance out of eternal damnation through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ the lamb who was slain to cover the sin of the world , repent and turn from your sins and realize your transgressions go to Jesus and beg for his forgiveness he will not turn you away
So, it is okay to have mass demonstrations, riots and looting during the very height of the initial Covid epidemic, but a tired of isolating and scrimping to pay for the basic necessities crowd is bad? Grow up, people are tired of hiding and fear mongering. The politicians doing all the condemning and ordering are the same ones continually violating their arbitrary mandates.
Party or not if the leaders were doing the right thing then the country would of been a way better place so stop saying about Grenadians like party we we play the game the way the leaders play it just say we always win
Jab jab is a cult and with this covenant is a pledge of yearly display. Ask the Hatians. Their faithfuls do it too, their celebrants look exactly the same. This cult started before emancipation. Historians who are “dark” themselves wont know that. At all cost faithfuls are compelled to show up for the devil once a year against the law or not and don’t they get away with it? We should ask why Government tolerates it. They are complicit, serving the same evil god. Never mind the appearance of police presence.
Imagine there was no parade yet some chose to do it. With the virus in Brooklyn people out of selfishness and desire to satisfy their own longing chose to put the lives of others at risk. Where is the love. It’s all about me me.
Whatever affects Grenada should be of concern to Grenadians no matter where they are.
Get off your high horse mr. steele. What people do in Brooklyn has no bearing on your sloppy, disrespectful way you have ignored, cheated, overcharged and ignored the required testing for covid on Grenada for the past year.
This is a public health matter. The MILLIONS that were borrowed for covid support were for the HEALTH CARE of THE NATION, not for government officials who have restaurants to garner financial help while others starved due to the covid shutdowns.
You decided to make covid a moneymaker by scaring people from having covid testing done because at $400 ec a test they would starve. You stopped caring whether or not they got tested.
You and your government cronies put YOURSELVES FIRST for the protection of the covid vaccines. What kind of government does that instead of tending to those most in need?
So frankly, shut up about what persons, Grenadian or perhaps NOT, doing activities thousands of miles away. Your attention belongs on Grenada and NOWHERE ELSE.
Well written but obviously from a political lunatic. You were able to skim through the mire and find spirit to support this. It was unsanctioned and our flag was seen is this. It represents us. That’s the point.
Have them arrested and make them apologise publicly to the Nation.
What a disgrace!
That is so ridiculous and stupid of these irresponsible Grenadians.
Grenadian are all about party and would spend their only dollar on going out.
I don’t believe those fools.
No words really.
