The current rate of transmission of Covid-19 in Grenada is significant and we are seeing an increase in Covid-19 related deaths.

As Senator for Agriculture and Fisheries, I am appealing to all our farmers and fisherfolk to please comply with the requirements of the Covid-19 health and safety protocols to keep yourselves, your families, workers and contacts safe.

I support the efforts of the Ministry of Health and the nation’s frontline workers, to keep the country safe, and I strongly encourage my constituents to get vaccinated.

I am a Grenadian born living in the US where cases are again out of control. I’m fully vaccinated and is stuck in Barbados quarantine because a minor from Grenada joined me. A situation I’d much rather no be in. Being stuck at home or in a hotel is absolutely horrible. People we need to take responsibility.

We have to come in to Grenada in a few days. What I’m trying to say is that because people are not following basic simple protocols we are here again in this hellish situation.

Please wear a mask, maintain distance, get tested if you are sick and isolate and please get vaccinated. This is the only way for life to resume and for us to get back to the things we want to do. All of us has to do our part so that we can get in front of this.

Please mask up and get vaccinated.

Start with the buses. Limit the number of persons, ensure masks wesrkng onbthe buses at all times not under mouth or nose but over mouth and nose. The conductors and drivers should be held responsible for that especially on the eastern route – Sauteurs to Grenville. Time to be serious about curbing the spread of this virus. Stop the gatherings whether it’s 10 or 5. Only families in same households should be together. What’s so difficult about that. It will help bring families together. So everyone will benefit.

Once again the focus is on getting vaccinated even though it won’t stop you from getting covid/flu but it will help you in your recovery.
We all know this is about number crunching and they need the nation to be at least 80% vaccinated.
The stats will help those who sitting on the fence to decide it is now or never.
And we will have more shutdown and restrictions to deal with which will weaken the non believers .
