Grenada’s latest Covid-19 related death is an Assistant Superintendent of Police who was attached to the Central Division of the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF).
ASP Byron Clyne died at the Princess Alice Hospital on Wednesday, 14 September 2021, after suffering a stroke while recovering from the virus. His death was reconfirmed as Covid-19 related by the Community Relations Department (CRD) of the RGPF.
Prime Minister Dr Keith Mitchell who is also the Minister for National Security disclosed recently that over 160 officers were infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes Covid-19, and this has resulted in some officers having to work between 15 to 16 hours per day.
“There are a number of policemen, I think it’s over 160 odd policemen who are infected, and many of them have to self-quarantine, and it is affecting them and their families, and it’s affecting the productive level of the force,” said Dr Mitchell.
It’s understood that the infected personnel in the Force is a mixture of civilian staff and police officers assigned to various divisions including its Headquarters.
Grenada began recording an upsurge in mid-August of Covid-19 due to mass gatherings events some of which were not authorized by the authorities. Local actives cases moved from 5, on 17 August, to 1,791 on 10 September 2021. Health authorities have declared that the island is affected by community spread with the Delta variant which was detected in early August as the main strain.
Since the announcement of increased cases, there have also been almost 40 deaths, with almost one-third of the deaths occurring at elderly homes. The youngest person to die was an 18-year-old student of T A Marryshow Community College (TAMCC), while the eldest was a 97-year-old resident at one of the elderly homes.
Acting Director of Medical Services Dr Tyhiesia Donald said on Tuesday that many individuals are arriving at the General Hospital during the advanced stage of the disease and are dying within 24 to 48 hours of admission.
According to the Ministry of Health Covid-19 dashboard, as of 14 September, there were 67 hospitalised because of the virus.
The comment section greatly emphasizes the crux of the matter in this covid era. Around the world misinformation has led to mass hysteria and even almost 3 years into this pandemic, 98% of the world’s population still do not know. If one had taken a stance with fauci from the beginning, today l am sure that person would be scratching his head in sheer confusion over the flip flipping of this doc. At present how can anyone be really prepared for a virus that had been created in a lab? If as the American government acknowledges that wuhan released it, then how can a tiny island really be equipped to handle it when massively advanced countries couldn’t? Also the elephant in the room….how many of these covid patients are already vaccinated? Doing your research would show a much higher number than anticipated. See medical authorities will see what they want to see to keep a particular rhetoric going..but we who work on the front lines understand the complexities of this virus and it’s vaccines. Basically they more of less mimic each other in a defenceless body therefore its up to the individual to decide whether his health in his hands or another’s hands is what he wants. Doctors have found that this virus attacks individuals whose vit D stores are low… they have also found that the efficacy of said vaccines last 6 months and begin to wane after which boosters are needed…so what then? We pray for this tiny island and its gentle people. May they overcome these monsters and finally wake up to the reality that life is indeed undefeated. Blessings.
Please have a look here. The FLCCC is run by some of the biggest experts before you all it horse tablers

Also check India, remember India and the crisis there? Those states that used these horse tablets as you called them are now covid free. Including the state of Uttar Pradesh with 240 million people has less covid cases daily then Grenada. All thanks to this, what you call, horse tablets.
People of Grenada Wake Up, inform yourself please. Nobody needs to die. I love Grenada and my heart aches when I see all this unnecessary suffering.
FAKE NEWS! Uttar Pradesh is not covid free, what a stupid thing to post.
Someone helpful posted below in another article. Better to listen to someone who does his country proud. Grenada’s own Dr. Kester Nedd.

What you linked are highly experimental, “cocktail” combinations that have not yet gone through proper large-scale trials for safety and efficacy with regard to covid in a large number of people. Look it up properly, beyond a youtube video.
I think we should always try to be healthy and boost our immune systems naturally with good nutrition, exercise and the like. And if those “cocktails” go through proper large-scale trials later, great – let’s wait for those results. But how about for now, when people are getting sick and dying every day in Grenada from a widely circulating virus, we take an available option that has already been proven worldwide to cut short the amount of time the virus survives in your body if you get infected, has already passed large-scale trials for safety and effectiveness, has already been shown to reduce hospitalizations and deaths, and help slow down transmission. Vaccines. Two shots and you’re done. It’s free, and no need to remember taking a cocktail of pills in an experimental combination every day.
Observer are you a doctor virus medicine, and do you also have have an option on the experimental use of these various vaccines that is currently being used on covid patients ,Mr or Ms Observer I appreciate your comments but one should also have an appreciative view of others view.
Good day.
Anyone out there on the fence and confused about vaccines – you don’t have to be a “virus doctor” to find reliable information. You don’t have to rely on what you read/watch/hear on the internet. Seek out a local medical doctor, a nurse, a local health professional, contact the MInistry of Health. Hell, call SGU and ask if an instructor from the School of Medicine would be willing to call you because you are not sure about getting vaccinated and want to know more to be comfortable. Ask your questions. You see the numbers – 42 Grenadians dead in one month. That’s not normal. Step away from the confusion of conflicting messages on the internet. For your sake, your loved ones and your friends, try your best to get advice from persons you can speak to who studied health and whose job involves keeping people healthy.
@ Gabriel: Experimental? Oh you mean vaccines that have gone through numerous trials all over the world with a myriad of data from countless studies, peer-reviewed and published in official medicine journals, which are easily accessible to the public including you? The vaccines that prevent hospitalizations and deaths? Those are past the trial stages with doses standardized and overwhelming data showing work.
I completed my MESc (master in environmental science) and my spouse is a medical doctor. However, no fancy degree (or any degree) is needed to read objective information and apply common sense and logic. No degree is needed to figure out that when lives are at stake, the right thing to do is to look out for your family, friends and the greater community.
You should be ashamed of yourself posting a quack’s advert for horse tablets on this page. Have you no respect for the dead?
Geert Vanden Bossche is one of the world’s leading experts in Virlogy a Vaccine development – he has clearly stated that mass vaccination during a Pandemic is the worst thing that can be undertaken because it forces the virus to fight for survival which is why there are now so many so-called variants – this is happening all over the world and here in Grenada – his opinions and knowledge is being ignored because the pharmaceutical industry is so powerful that they are censoring him and other highly qualified doctors and scientists in order to further their own highly profitable vaccine agenda – wake up Grenada – mass vaccinations are not be answer they are causing more problems
How about you not take medical advice from a veterinarian you found on the internet who doesn’t have a lot of peer-reviewed publications on vaccines. How about talk to your local medical doctor for medical advice, or a trusted local health professional. And no, vaccination is not why the designated variants of concern we are now dealing with exist. Those mutated before mass vaccinations were rolled out. Do better research.
Geert vanden Bossche is not a vegetarian, where did you get that from. Why are you spreading fake news and thereby stopping Grenadians from being properly informed. Geert is one of the biggest experts in this field worldwide.
Excuse me but he was not RECOVERING from covid when he had the stroke. Covid causes strokes, then coma, then death. It happened to a friend of mine. He was in the hospital, said he didn’t really feel sick, but went to sleep that night and had a stroke. Ge was in a coma for a day and then died.
It happened to a wonderful 34 year old man with a wife and two children also.
Grenada knows nothing about covid but you will be learning the hard way.
There are also the longterm effects of catching covid that stay AFTER the acute phase has passed. Have a friend going through this right now.
My deepest sympathy to the family, friends, neighbours and to all Grenadians.
Well said FredF
Is that all you people can talk/think about? A family has lost a loved and all you do is pass misinformation about vaccines.
I send deepest sympathies to family, friends and police family, Grenada has lost another citizen. God bless
Steups. So how we know he didn’t die from the stroke. The story says he got a stroke WHILE RECOVERING from covid. So people can’t die from other causes these days? Many persons have died from strokes over the years. Stop trying to frighten the public by making them believe all these numbers are covid 19 deaths. You say one thing on TV then you tell the families something else …. smh
Wondering if he had the shots or not. A 30 year old male nurse (my friend’s boyfriend – worked at NY Presbyterian and was mandated to get the shot or lose his job) had a stroke 48 hours after his injection (in this case, Moderna). He is now unable to work. My uncle died “suddenly” of a heart attack back in April – 6 weeks after he received the Johnson & Johnson. Granted, he was 80, but he was pretty active and healthy. My aunt found him collapsed in the bathroom. They ruled it as a heart attack, but nobody really knows. They refused to do an autopsy. My partner came down with shingles and the rash is still there, 2 months after the Johnson & Johnson – we are going on 4 months now of a rash that has not entirely dissipated. These side effects and sudden deaths are less rare than they are telling us and the journalism is tricky. This is representative of approximately 1% of adverse events because they make it incredibly difficult to report to Vaers in the first place:

Please research whether there is a relationship between covid and bloodcloths that may lead to strokes. Let us know what you find…
Covid can cause the very same blood clots that the antivaxxerrs use as a reason for not getting vaccinated. That can lead to a stroke, such a shame we lost Byron that way.
