The Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) announced on 11 October 2021 the destination will become even more accessible with increased airlift from the United States and the resumption of service from Canada.
The timing comes just ahead of winter when the Caribbean is especially appealing for North Americans who are already dreading early darkness and frigid temperatures.
“As people re-engage their passion for travel, our airline partners recognise the value of providing connectivity to our special island. We are truly a slice of paradise with a low-key vibe, warm and welcoming people, and offerings that connect visitors not only with nature and amazing water adventures, but also with a fascinating culinary journey,” said Petra Roach, CEO Grenada Tourism Authority. “New and expanded air service helps Grenada regain its position as a highly attractive destination for visitors seeking a distinctive Caribbean experience.”

Instead of using Ivermectin like India, Mexico, Nigeria and other Latin American Countries, to decrease the rate of Covid-19 infections in the Islands, our leaders are busy emulating the US and UK bashing the drug and in the case of St Lucia prosecuting a doctor for dispensing Ivermectin, hoping to resuscitate their waning economies through tourist dollars. Well, the US is advising its residents to avoid these Islands.

Well lies are normal from gov. All they care about is rating and the tourist dollar. While jab was a super spreader for the virus, the 48 hr was the blame as three cases were picked up with travelers testing positive when departing. Prior to that, there were no local cases. It seems forgotten than vaccinated people can get and spread the virus. Symptoms may be mild for some with vaccine but everyone is different and that’s why some who are vaccinated are still dying. No one can predict how your body will react to a virus so taking the vaccine just may not work.the gov has made its people the sacrificial lamb. Yes we need the hospitality sector to revive but are we doing it correctly? They refused to change the 48 hr to appease travelers to a shorter quarantine time and they probably lying about numbers to get better ratings and tourists to come for Dec. Who knows…. with all the lies it’s difficult to tell.
No one, no matter how much we love Grenada wants to travel to a country ravaged by covid. A country who is negligent in providing both accurate and transparent information about the SIDE EFFECTS of the covid vaccines along with the MEDICAL CARE to treat them so people don’t die.
Why are double vaccinated persons DYING on Grenada???
You need to be able to care for your own people first.
We can come DOUBLE VACCINATED with a NEGATIVE PCR test and STILL CATCH COVID on Grenada because if the huge negligence of your government in their attitude of NON TESTING, of making Covid a moneymaking situation instead of saving lives.
Sure, Grenadians have the chance to take the vaccine BUT you must be able to also treat and save them from the SIDE EFFECTS such as BLOOD CLOTS, MYOCARDITIS, ANYPHLAXIS and more that can occur BUT you MUST EDUCATE the public of the warning signs so they reach hospital in time to be TREATED and SAVED.
You are a lousy government and a faulty medical service.
your comment is based on pure ignorance backed by arrogance. if you dont want to take the vaccine because of your extensive youtube and facebook research then go right ahead but dont try to influence everyone else with strictly anecdotal evidence. delete your comment
Actually. No. Her comments are based on facts and reality:
1. Vaccinated people DO catch the virus and DO die (40% of those in hospital in Israel, 12 5% of deaths in England are single vaccinated people and below 3% in the USA. We don’t yet know why the numbers are so different. But there should be no doubt that vaccinated people can and do die after they catch the virus.
2. Visitors Will bring more COVID 19 to Grenada in the upcoming tourism season – regardless of how stringent or loose the border protocols are. That Is a reality whether you like to hear it or not.
3. Please remember that the first five cases of the Delta variant were brought into Grenada by FULLY VACCINATED people – resulting in the loss of over 180 Grenadian lives.
Of course we could blame the next wave on the the Jab Jab and on unruly Grenadian people. Couldn’t we?
You are so right. Traveling to Grenada now should mot be on anyone’s mind . There are no facilities there to treat regular illness . How could they treat Covid patients? The love of money is the problem in Grenada for those Politicians. Anyway ppl be careful.
I agree with you 100 percent that’s exactly what is happening in Grenada the Government is playing with the numbers, they are doing less testing.
By all means, Grenada’s tourism industry needs to recover it’s lost year. But we should remain vigilant regarding the impact of COVID-19 on our population. Vaccine coverage in the US is still quite low, compared to other “developed” countries. There should be no exceptions to the application of the strictest entry requirements.
Good news. Thank you GTA
