Come 19 May, Grenadian educator Dr Cheryl Bernabe Bishop will facilitate a day of key workshops in partnership with Macmillan Education Caribbean, focusing on delivering engaging and effective lessons to students with resources that teach essential life skills and deep learning.
Accompanied by other academics in their respective fields, Dr Bishop will present a series of three sessions for primary mathematics, primary science, and social studies. Each workshop will delve deep into engaging young minds in the classroom, skills-based learning for better outcomes and effective teacher support to save preparation time.
Dr Bishop and colleagues will go further to introduce a selection of Macmillan Education Caribbean’s new publishing, including their ground-breaking new primary math series, Max Maths – Making Real-World Connections, released late in 2021. Enquiry-based learning techniques, which are utilised in some of Macmillan’s series and involve ‘hands-on’ learning, will also be discussed.
Teachers and educators across the region are encouraged to attend to hear Dr Bishop and colleagues discuss how they can get the most out of learners in the classroom, along with the most effective resources that will help them do this. Those interested in participating can e-mail Dr Bishop at [email protected] for more information and to book their place.
The workshops will take place on Thursday, 19 May 2022 from 9 am to 3 pm at The Grenada Youth Centre Conference Room, Grand Anse, St George.
