by Richard W Duncan, OBE
I am extremely honoured to be receiving such an important award of “Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE).”
I am earnestly grateful for the award of excellence I have received in recognition of the 25 years and 9 months of service in the Banking Sector.
Acceptance of this award would not have been possible without the inspiration I have received from my seniors and my colleagues across the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union, for whom I have the deepest respect, and from whom I have derived the strength to challenge myself and perform at the highest professional standards.
I sincerely thank my wife Petal, and daughter Avalon for the sacrifices they have made in supporting my career; I also pay homage to Gordon Steele, OBE deceased, for the opportunity to serve at Co-op Bank; and to all the Directors of Co-op Bank between 1996 and 2021, especially the current Chairman, Darryl Brathwaite.
Were it not for the support of my colleagues at Co-op Bank, this honour would not have been bestowed. ‘Nuff respect’ to Deon Moses, Peter Antione, Julia Lawrence, Aaron Logie, Clifford Bhola, Floyd Dowden, Mondelle Squires-France, Jennifer Marshall-Robertson, Willvorn Grainger, Richard Medford, Carla Wilson, Kester Joseph, Roger Duncan, Brian James, Judith De Coteau Allana Joseph, Nicola Philip, Garvin Baptiste, Shane Regis, Cynthia Davidson and Susan Redhead.
Finally, I express my appreciation to those responsible for recognising my impact and having seen it fit to honour me in this way.
Very surprised that Arley Gill didn’t get knighted for his services to tourism. Maybe next year?
Sir Arley Gill, Knight Commander of the Order of Making Grenada Look Bad
Congratulations to mister Duncan for this well deserved award!
