For Tropical North Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico
Area of Special Interest: 10° – 20°N and 45° – 65°W
POTENTIAL TROPICAL CYCLONE TWO: At 8 pm, the disturbance was located at latitude 8.8° North, longitude 51.6° West, about 624 nautical miles east southeast of Grenada. The system is moving toward the west-northwest near 18 mph, and this general motion is expected to continue for the next few days. Maximum sustained winds remain near 40 mph with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1009 mb. Conditions appear conducive for development, and the disturbance will likely become a tropical storm before reaching the southern Windward Islands or while moving westward across the southern Caribbean Sea. Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique can expect cloudy to overcast conditions with moderate to heavy scattered showers, thundershowers and gusty winds on Tuesday night with these conditions continuing into Wednesday morning.

Disturbance: Another tropical wave is in the central Atlantic with axis along 40°W, extending from 01°N to 16°N, approximately 1271 nautical miles east of Grenada and moving W around 15 kt. Scattered moderate convection is noted from 05°N-10°N between 38°W-44°W. This system has a low, 0% chance of cyclone formation within the next 48 hours and a 20% chance over the next 5 days.
Disturbance: Northern Gulf of Mexico: Disorganised showers and thunderstorms over the northcentral Gulf of Mexico are associated with a trough of low pressure. Some slow development of this system is possible while it moves west-southwestward at about 10 mph and approaches the coasts of southern Texas and northeastern Mexico during the next few days. This system has a low, 10% chance of cyclone formation within the next 48 hours and a low, 20% chance over the next 5 days. This system does not pose a threat to the State of Grenada.
