The Meteorological Office is currently monitoring a westward-moving tropical wave.
Synopsis: At 8 pm, a tropical wave with its axis along 53°W from 02°N to 15°N, which is 780 miles east of Grenada and moving westward around 15 kt. Scattered moderate to isolated strong convection is noted near the northern end of the wave axis and mainly from 11°N to 14°N between 49°W and 53°W. This tropical wave is expected to produce enhanced rainfall over the Windward Islands on Sunday and Sunday night.
Forecast for the State of Grenada: Partly cloudy conditions are expected with few brief showers, increasing in cloudiness during the evening, with some widely scattered to scattered showers, which may be heavy at times, with gusty winds and thundershowers possible.
These conditions can improve or deteriorate over time. The meteorological office continues to monitor the progress of this wave as it propagates westward. A marine advisory is also in effect.
