The Ministry of Finance and Energy is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr A. Michael Baptiste as a Macroeconomic Advisor to the Government of Grenada. Mr Baptiste is based in the Ministry and Finance and Energy. His appointment took effect on 5 January 2015.
Mr Michael A. Baptiste is an Economist/Public Policy Analyst whose experience spans the public sector, multilateral financing institutions and independent consulting. He has completed consulting and capacity-building assignments in several Caribbean countries including Guyana, Jamaica, Montserrat, St Kitts and Nevis, Dominica, The Bahamas, St Lucia and Suriname. His most recent assignment was in St Kitts and Nevis where he supported the Ministry of Finance with the implementation of their IMF structural adjustment program. Mr Baptiste is a national of Trinidad and Tobago.
Mr Baptiste’s assignment at the Ministry of Finance and Energy is being supported by the Department for International Development (DFID/UK). His priorities at the Ministry will include:
- The Homegrown Programme
- Public Sector Investment Programme
- Capacity Building in Macroeconomic Management
