The female arm of the Royal Grenada Police Force Sports Club, met with Grenada Football Association President, Cheney Joseph, at the club’s headquarters on Friday 4 October 2013, to discuss future involvement of female officers in GFA activities.
The officers received firsthand information from the President on the association’s efforts to promote the development of women’s football on the island.
Joseph provided an outline on opportunities for women in football including possible role as players, Coaches, Match Officials, Match Commissioners, Club Administrators, Committee Members, among others.
Presentations were made by three female officers who have already benefitted from training organized by the association. They included Sergeant Michelle Bedeau, Corporal Kassandra Pascal and Woman Constable Arsha Wellington.
The Royal Grenada Police Force embraces the opportunity as part of its community policing initiatives, to be involved in community activities in its continued effort to bridge the gap between the police and the public.
The Female Officers thanked the GFA President for gracing them with his presence and have already committed to participating in the upcoming FIFA Women’s COM-UNITY seminar which takes place from 16–19 October 2013 at the Grenada National Stadium.
