Today, Tuesday 24 June, 2014 marks the 9th Anniversary of the Gouyave Fish Friday Festival. The fishing town of Gouyave will come more alive this weekend when the Fish Friday Festival begins at 6pm and continues past midnight!

The anniversary celebration will take place this Friday, 27 June, when the streets of Gouyave will be filled with various offerings of fish and seafood and will be energised with the sounds of the Florida All Stars Steel Orchestra and the Victoria Drummers.

Gouyave Fish Friday Company Limited is a not for profit organisation that is the custodian for Fish Friday, which was founded to promote community development in Gouyave, by promoting it as a fishing village. The organisation recently received assistance from the Government of Australia to improve infrastructure at the venue.

The celebrations continue on Sunday 29 June, as the Gouyave Improvement Committee stages the annual Fisherman’s Birthday Celebration.
