Effective Monday, 22 September, Ambrose Phillip will lead the secretariat that governs football in Grenada, the Grenada Football Association (GFA).
Following the advertisement of the position, a number of applications were received, of which 5 people were shortlisted to be interviewed for the position. The Executive Committee appointed a 4 man panel led by Jackie Williams, Human Resource Manager at GRENLEC, to conduct the interviews, from which a recommendation was made to the committee on the best suitable candidate. Following an executive meeting on Monday 15 September, the decision was taken to appoint Phillip to the post.
Phillip will be presented to the General Council at the staging of an Extraordinary General Council on Saturday, and to the Executive Committee on Monday, 22 September.
President of the Association, Cheney Joseph, in responding to Phillip’s appointment, extended congratulations, adding that he looks forward to working along with him for the development of football in Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
