Following years of not holding an annual general meeting in accordance with its constitution, the members of the Grenada Mas Band Association (GMBA) recently elected a new executive body headed by Andy Chichester.

Newly elected president Chichester says that one of the priorities going forward will be developing the organisation and getting members to be more active. According to a press release from the GMBA, Chichester has a long history with carnival, including steelpan, music and mas. He takes over the position which has been vacant since the passing of former president Owsin Gill. He was elected unopposed.

He will be assisted by Peter Bain who was also appointed unopposed as the new Vice President. Lendon Bullen was elected to the post of General Secretary, Ama Dickson as recording secretary, Helen Edwards as treasurer, and Ricardo Keens Douglas as the assistant Secretary Treasurer. Chearvon Benjamin is the new PRO and Hensley Jeffery and Andre Greenidge are the two trustees.
