As Grenada celebrates Month of the Child, Commissioner of Police Winston James, is making a special appeal to all parents, guardians and social institutions to do due diligence in ensuring the proper development of the child and that their rights are protected.
Parents and guardians are called upon to do their best in providing the necessary care and protection for their children from all danger, harm and all forms of abuse.
According to COP James, “All sectors of the society must recognise the ‘rights of the child’ and do what is necessary in promoting and protecting their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual and social wellbeing. It is important that we work together to produce holistic and sustainable strategies that will promote the rights of the child.”
Analyses indicate that Grenada children are becoming more vulnerable to the misfortunes of child abuse.
COP James reassures the public of the commitment of the RGPF in ensuring the rights of the child are protected and call on all citizens to report all suspected cases of child abuse to the relevant authority.
