On Monday, 3 July 2017, Fit for Life Health Club launched their 6th annual Fitness Revolution, dubbed ‘Last Man Standing.’
According to the Managing Director of the Fit for Life Health Club, Cecil Mitchell, this programme was initially designed to get people ready for the upcoming Carnival season. However, over the years it has grown tremendously to being much more than simply getting into shape. “The whole idea of it was to get you fit for Carnival, but as the years continued, the concept evolved into having fun, losing weight, building stamina…”
Mitchell’s aim with Fitness Revolution 6 includes the prevention of the development of chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, cancers and diabetes, which are plaguing our society. He encouraged persons to eat healthier, exercise more, while being part of Fitness Revolution 6.
MP for South St George Hon Alexandra Otway-Noel, who is no stranger to the Fitness Revolution, used the opportunity to impress on persons the need for daily exercise. “It is important that we improve on the health and well-being of our society.”
Fitness Revolution 6, is expected to commence on Monday, 10 July, and conclude Tuesday, 3 August. It runs from Mondays to Thursdays from 5 pm to 6:30 pm at the Morne Rouge Playing Field. Mitchell promised participants can look forward to another fun-filled Revolution.
The audience was given the opportunity to have a sneak peak of what would be happening during the Revolution. The demonstration was done by some of the trainers and members of the Health Club. Special mention was made of and thanks given to the sponsors and partners whom, without them, Fitness Revolution would not be where it is now.
