Unconfirmed reports circulating on social media indicate that there was a shooting incident in the Willis area just before midday on Sunday, 9 July 2017, which claimed the life of a 36-year-old man.

According to witnesses of the unfortunate incident, the deceased was with friends, drinking and preparing to shoot fowls for a cook they were going to have later in the day. It was said that the young lady who fired the fatal shot with the pellet gun was not aware that it was loaded when she picked it up, placed it close to the neck of the deceased and squeezed the trigger.

Speculations are being made by the public as to what actually happened. However, police are yet to confirm and release the names of the shooter and the victim.

As details unfold, more information would be published on this incident.
