An analysis of statistics from the Carlton House and Rathdune Psychiatric Unit in 2016, indicated that 100 individuals, (92 males and 8 females), sought treatment for problematic substance use. The substance with the highest demand for treatment was marijuana as indicated by 56% of the treatment population. Most persons reported that they began using marijuana between the ages of 10–19 years old (73%). Six females (11%) sought treatment for problematic marijuana use.
