Rastafarian family reserves right to refuse Covid-19 vaccination

  • Williams concerned about possible side-effects of Covid-19 vaccination
  • Social media has given a platform for the spread of disinformation

Lower St John Street resident, reggae musician and member of the Rastafarian faith, Johnnie “Black Iron” Williams, said although he is not anti-vaccine, he is sceptical about allowing his family – his wife and 5 children – to become vaccinated against the coronavirus. If vaccination is made mandatory, he is prepared to have his children homeschooled.

The Prime Minister stated during a press conference that it is not the intent of his administration to force anyone to take the vaccine, although he strongly recommends they do. He said that he and his cabinet colleagues are prepared to lead by example and receive the vaccine once it becomes available.

Disinformation surrounding the coronavirus vaccine has certainly created panic around the world, including the Rastafarian movement in the Caribbean. The religious movement known to be quite vocal about the downfall of the oppressive “Babylon” system, believes this is just another attempt at total global domination targeted at systemic extermination of non-white people to curb population growth.

“I am not against vaccine, because in some cases, vaccine has proven to be effective, but in other cases, vaccine has been proven to be used for biological warfare especially against the black race.” Williams referred to the Tuskegee Syphilis Study, formerly called the “Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male” carried out in 1932 by the US Public Health Service (PHS), where 600 African American men were told they were being treated for “bad blood.” The objective was to study the disease’s natural progression and the men did not receive proper treatment needed to cure their illness.

Williams believes that not enough information about the side effects of the coronavirus vaccine and its ingredients has been given to the Grenadian public. “I do not know of any pharmaceutical product that does not come with side effects, so we must never ignore the side effects. If there are side effects, then there should be exemptions for people like myself, whose vegan dietary lifestyle is a part of my way of life. One of my main concerns is the ingredients used to create the vaccine and from my investigation, I became concerned that one of the ingredients in the vaccine is MRC5, which is tissues from aborted foetus.”

According to a Reuters Fact Check article, a Facebook video discussing the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine for Covid-19 has falsely claimed it contains tissue from an aborted human foetus. The article notes: “It is not accurate to say MRC-5 cell lines are the same cells from an aborted foetus. They are cell lines that have been grown in a laboratory from a primary cell culture originally taken from a foetus.”

Vaccine manufacturers like Pfizer and Moderna have been apparently granted immunity from liability in the unlikely event that people decide to sue after experiencing adverse side effects from taking the vaccine. The most common side effects of the vaccines are:

  • Pain
  • Swelling
  • Redness
  • Chills
  • Tiredness
  • Headache

These side effects usually start within a day or two of getting the vaccine, but are expected to go away within a few days.

Also of concern to Williams is that ordinary poor people will have no legal recourse of attaining compensation in the unlikely event that they experience adverse side effects. Williams has advised that government should be advocating for boosting one’s immune system through healthier food intake, rather than focusing on vaccination. Williams also said based on his research, the abbreviation for Covid-19 is Certificate of Vaccination Identification by Artificial Intelligence, an agenda pushed by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to acquire a digital certificate of vaccination records.

There is no evidence to support this claim, which has been fuelled by social media. Covid-19 is the abbreviated name given to the coronavirus disease 2019 by the World Health Organisation (WHO) abbreviated the name in February 2020, where ‘CO’ stands for ‘corona,’ ‘VI’ for ‘virus,’ and ‘D’ for disease, and ‘19’ for 2019.

Speaking on the subject, Dr Sonia Nixon, Senior Medical Officer in the Ministry of Health stated that it is quite common for people to be sceptical about being vaccinated, especially in an age where social media has given a platform for the spread of disinformation presumable from credible sources. She said that over the years, anti-vaccine people have benefitted from herd immunity, which is indirect protection from an infectious disease that occurs when a certain number of the population becomes immune either through vaccination or immunity developed through the previous infection. While understanding that there are sectors of our population that reserve the right not to be vaccinated, it is of paramount importance that other people acquire the correct information before making a decision.

With the ever-increasing number of Covid cases and deaths throughout the world, the urgency for a vaccine is evident. In Grenada, while the recorded cases of the virus remain relatively low with one recorded Covid-19 related death, health officials are preparing to acquire its share of vaccines and have informed the nation that information on the rollout will be provided.

Attempts to get feedback on the subject of Covid-19 vaccination from the leaders of the Nyabinghi order and Twelve Tribes proved futile.

Judging from the comments, the pro-vaccine propaganda is, indeed, in full swing.
Look after yourselves people – your immune system, plenty of sun (ha ha) hydration, good healthy food and good attitude etc. Note that this virus has a 99.8 + recovery rate without interference of the big pharmaceutical kind …

It makes me laugh the way an island with 1 death and 4 cases has been brain washed and traumatised into believing that the whole island will die if you don’t receive a vaccine. Come on people, stop the sheepery (new word).
You watch foreign news and relate everything that is happening in those countries to yours and add a touch of spice and then everyone gets panicked and disillusioned into thinking and believing they must adopt the rules and regulations imposed. They have you begging for a vaccine to save you from a problem you don’t even have. 1 death!!??

Call me anti vaxx, call me whatever you want. But I think anyone that is willing to be injected with something that they have no proof of the long term effects of, is simply either over come with fear or has no interest in their actual future health. Grenada used to be a free thinking, strong and independent island, now it’s looking more like a scared lamb amongst the looming wolves.

Remember this people. Nothing is more important than your souls. Don’t loose it trying to keep up with the world.
Everything is not what it seems. I am seeing highly intelligent people, loose their sense of logic and reason due to being traumatised and pressured into accepting the mark.

Lastly. When you notice that you can’t buy, sell, trade, travel or receive education unless you have received the mark (vaccine). Maybe you will get it but it will probably be too late by then so WAKE UP. be yourself, don’t let the politicians scare you into loosing your soul. Go get your bible.

So you want God to protect you from the virus?
He sent it in the first place!
Personally I will rely on the vaccine.

Maybe Grenada has had such a low incidence of Covid because nobody visits Grenada any more so they ain’t bringing it in… More likely that than God’s intervention for sure….

You know what you can do with your bible Mr King…

There is no need to persuade Rastafarians or any other vaccine-hesitant people about the value of vaccines.

If they make the wrong decisions, they will pay. The problem resolves itself. Nature has no time for fools.

Grenada is home to a medical school that has provided more than 19000 doctors to the US and the world – making it the island of health ! listen to the medical community – vaccines save lives and have for many years . DONT listen to skeptics and anti- vaxxiers ! The covid vaccine will allow us to return to a “normal life “
Advise from one the graduates of SGU – when you get the opportunity take the vaccine and feel better !

While there is no doubt that the virus is real, and that people have been seriously damaged by it or unfortunately died, although initially this was as much to do with the learning curve and poor treatments such as placing people on a respirator, which exacerbated the problems with their damaged lungs.
Also there is little doubt that “science” is being bandied about by many people who have skin in the game, and there is grave misrepresentation of “facts”.
Anyone who tries to present facts even from official sources such as CDC or WTO never mind scientists who have argued with the official position are labelled anti vaxx despite it being from the very people who are condemning them, which is simply a way of demonising their message, which regrettably acts as censorship.
Unfortunately there are hosts of YouTube short videos from cranks or ill informed people, so we end up with knock down statements like the one regarding aborted foetus material, which is quite true, there is no aborted foetus material in these mRNA vaccines.
However this does not stop the fact that the information about the vaccines efficacy is in itself pretty bogus, as the likes of Pfizer only based their results on ? 9 vaccinated cases, and ?189 placebo cases, interestingly ignoring about 7000 other people in the trials of which roughly half were in each section. Meaning if they had used them the efficacy would have been minimal, not the claimed 95%.
There is a slow slow drip drip of information about medical staff who have either died or been seriously compromised after vaccination. We have to accept that hundreds of thousands are dying, but when we take into account that even without the vaccine those under 65 have a 99.95% survival rate, and over 75s have a 95% survival rate it makes the use of the vaccine a total waste of time, as it doesn’t stop you catching the virus, and according to the Pharmaceutical companies, it does not stop you transmitting it, which is why we will have to continue to wear masks, the only thing it was designed to do, and it doesn’t seem that good at that, is it is intended to reduce symptoms, but how do you know how bad your symptoms were going to be in the first place.
The whole thing is a $70Billion income project for the pharmaceuticals.

Why don’t you ask my friend who died of covid 19 and had not travelled. Vaccines have saved millions of people worldwide. Thete are more side effects including anaphylaxis. I am one of those people in jeopardy of this kind of reaction. I am not anti vaccine. Each drug developed MUST provide a product MONOGRAPH that must detail ALL ingredients and possible side effect. Look them up. Also, every person who has ANY kind d of reaction / side effect shou6be reporting it to the appropriate health authority in their country so that accurate records are kept and the true occurrence of each side effect is registered and counted giving a more fulsome picture of a drug.

Here is how this will work out: He refuses the vaccine, one of the kids gets sick, he goes back to the media complaining that our hospital can’t help his child or to complain that the government isn’t funding his kids treatment.

        • King says:

Kids do not typically die or even receive severe symptoms from COVID. So your statement is not only stupid but you are all for something you don’t even understand. But it’s ok to want to be led as we can’t all be leaders. Educate yourself.

        • D.. Hart says:

Everyone worldwide has the option to not take the vaccine at any time. Same as other vaccines that have proven their efficacy. Those that are proven are primarily the ones that protect our children. Best thing you can do on Grenada is respect the protocols and continue to wear masks outside of with your family or when you are alone with no chance of infecting each other. Look to the rest of the world where the stupes are not wearing masks and spreading disease and death. BE SMARTER than the rest of the world. You are small enough to protect yourselves until there are no cases of covid on the island.

  7. Storm says:

This is just the start of many more to come and that is the reason for giving people the choice .
Now the developed countries will use this as one of the main requirements for entering their country .
