The event is being held against the background of the Covid-19 pandemic and the rapidly changing environment for Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs).
According to the UNDP letter of invitation to the Prime Minister, Tuesday’s discussion will be the first of a series of 5 Regional Policy Dialogues aimed at discussing the new trends in the tourism sector and the role of MSMEs within the sector.

Tourism yes… but do support the local vendors, they are the smiles and kind words on the beaches the visitors love. Keep Grenada an island that welcome the majority of visitors who not just the very rich ones. Kind heart people who be friends not the wealthy who want servants. My humble opinion… thanks you.
You need to rethink your main industry. You have destroyed all the sites that attract travelers. Let’s start calling us travellers not tourists. Your biggest asset was the untouched beauty if your environment. Instead of thoughtful, respectful, small accommodations being built You allow complete destruction, and flagrant abuse of planning laws designed to protect like the encroachment of that cement monstrosity that destroyed the Flamboyant hotel. People travel to the Caribbean to experience local culture with the charm of the LOCAL building style. We don’t want to spend thousands of dollars to go to concrete piles same ascwhat have taken over other destinations like Mexico. Stop believing foreigners who don’t give a damn about you like Sawiris, who has bought enough land on Grenada, received concessions, and already believes it is his private island.
Always remember that our main industry is tourism and without it we are in trouble.
Therefore it is in our best interest to look after it long term.
