The Ministry of Health extends deepest condolences to the family of the late Dr Darville Raye, House Officer in Paediatrics at the General Hospital.

Dr Raye died suddenly on Tuesday morning.

Health Minister Honourable Nickolas Steele described the late doctor as a valuable member of the healthcare team. He said, “Dr Raye has been providing yeoman service in the paediatrics department and is one of the stalwarts of the healthcare system. He was reliable, dependable, going above and beyond the call of duty and a ready volunteer to extra service. Dr Raye was 33 years old, he had so much more to give. We will move on though because there’s still the emergency and the urgency of the Covid-19, despite the fact that we have lost one of our soldiers.”

Outlining the extent of Dr Raye’s dedication, the Minister indicated that since completing his internship, Dr Raye has not taken any vacation.

Dr Raye, a scholarship awardee who studied in the People’s Republic of China, has worked at the General Hospital since 2015.

In addition to his immediate family and friends, the Ministry of Health extends condolences to the medical team and other members of the healthcare team who worked with Dr Raye.

Ah lot of people.. and especially we Grenadians run on negativity just as boat engine run on gas…b4 we spread things we need to do at least a small investigation first! E..g if u misread vacation for vaccination or ur reading skills is not up-there u need to confirm b4 you inform!..it clearly said vacation with followup wording that he was that dedicated…if it was vaccination there would have been words following also …these are the things that spoil people’s name, character etc…and also cause all this political disrespect and politics battle in this small Island

I think Storm may have misread the article. It says the good Dr didn’t take any vacation not didn’t take any vaccination. Is that right Storm?

RIP doc but I find it strange that a doctor working so close with the covid crew did not take the vaccine.
And the government is happy to make that information public.

No where does the article say he did not take the vaccine. The issue is not even mentioned.

I have seen nothing in any news article about whether the Doctor was or was not vaccinated or that he died from Covid. Stop casting aspersions & spreading rumours & misinformation. You should be ashamed of yourself. Let the Doctor RIP & I send my condolences to his family & friends.
