The Ministry of Health in partnership with a team of volunteers will mount several community-based vaccination and testing clinics across the country this weekend, as Grenada enters into its first period of no-movement days.
On Saturday, from 10 am, vaccines will be available to residents of La Tante, Perdmontemps, and La Sagesse at the respective health centres.
Mobile testing teams will also travel through communities in St David to provide testing for persons who have been exposed to the virus or suspect that they have been infected.
Similar services will be available at the Rose Hill Community Centre starting at 10:30 am, and at the St John’s Anglican School in Gouyave from 9 am.
Health teams will also be stationed at the Woburn Health Centre from 9 am and on the Calivigny Main Road from 11 am.
On Sunday, the health officials will be in St Andrew, Birchgrove through to Adelphi, Beaureguard and St James, and from Hope playing field through to Marquis, Soubise, Telescope, Paradise and Simon, starting from 10 am. Residents will be advised by public address system, the exact time that the teams will be present in the respective areas.
The Ministry of Health is encouraging persons to get vaccinated to help reduce the chance of severe illness, hospitalisation and even death, if they do in fact contract the virus.

The media tells lies to people. And most are idiots they believe everything the media tells them.
how much sense does it make to hold vacccine clinics the two days of no movement with police stopping you to inform you that you need a pass to get to the clinic and you first have to have an appointment and grenville police is not issueing passes. Lord have mercy!
I’m not sure it’s a good idea to be having these mass testing drives. Naturally, a large percentage of the respondents will be persons who suspect they might be infected. So all those respondents who are actually uninfected – the very act of getting tested could be putting them at a high risk of getting infected! They will come and test negative; leave the site newly positive; and go infect others at their workplaces and communities.
MoH should only be testing individuals with symptoms and individuals who have had contact with a positive case. And the testers should go to these individuals and not have them come to them.
When you have open testing inviting people to come out you’re attracting crowds of people and creating super spreader events. This defeats the whole purpose of the no-movement.
At last! A vaccination drive. This should have been done when the first doses of AZ vaccine came in and at least every weekend since. Please use these facilities and get vaccinated and tested. It’s for everyone’s sake.
There wasn’t a great enough public demand for vaccination before this latest outbreak.
Look at the effort being place on getting the locals vaccinated all because of the sudden rise in positive covid cases and the sharp increase in deaths from one for almost one year to 22 in a matter of weeks.
I for one don’t believe everything that is written but can say if a nation is willing to break the law to do what their believe is right then you have a government who will do everything within their power to get what they want.
I read a view comments made by you but have to say, your grammar really gets in your way.
