Welcome to TA Marryshow Dr Brunton. Please put your stamp on this important role by expanding admissions to ALL graduates of Secondary Schools in Grenada. Delaying matriculation by accepting all graduates ensures the mission of higher education will remain intact: Teaching young minds.
This will ensure that we debunk the dying idea that students must prove fitness to learn in order to advance their education careers simply because they have not earned enough CSC passes.
By successfully graduating from Secondary Schools students have proved their discipline (an important indicator of their intention) and thereafter seeking admission to the College (this indicates they want to further their education) those hungry young students would have passed the real admission test so I urge you urgently to open the College so that our Secondary School graduates who for reasons that can explored in the classroom, can hurdle over the “passes” criteria that now exists. The status quo ought to be discarded to the dustbin of history so that these bright young minds who want to advance themselves experience no barriers at this formidable and critical stage of their young lives. Thank you for considering this as an urgent first step in taking up your tenure.
